Rocky Coast Family Acupuncture is a small cadre of health care professionals in Portland, Maine, whose life work centers on bringing the time-tested, powerful modalities of Traditional Chinese Medicine into our modern, fast-paced world. We are a committed team who combines our unique backgrounds and philosophies to accommodate and connect with people facing various disorders and representing different walks of life.
We care about and connect with our clients deeply. We believe everyone has a right to be listened to, taken care of, and valued. We deliver on this promise. We work closely with patients to release their body's natural abilities to heal at all levels - body, mind, and spirit. Jason Stein
Founder, LAc, MAc
Jason founded Rocky Coast Family Acupuncture with his wife, Beth Herzig, out of their shared passion for traditional Chinese medicine and strong desire to help others. Board Certified by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM), Jason earned his Masters Degree in Chinese Medicine from the Northwest Institute of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine in Seattle, Washington.
Jason identifies strongly with eastern philosophies. He believes that the balance between body, mind, and spirit are deeply influential in achieving optimal health. Some of Jason's specialties include the treatment of chronic pain, digestive disorders, headaches, women's health and fertility, and pediatrics.
Beth Herzig
Founder, LAc, MAc
Beth is Board Certified by NCCAOM (National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine) and the National Association of Detox Acupuncture (NADA). She holds a Masters Degree from The Northwest Institute of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine in Seattle, Washington.
Beth is a native of New England and has enjoyed living and working in Maine since 2003 with her husband, Jason Stein. While in Washington, Beth worked in various community clinics, including a corrections facility, an acupuncture-based methadone clinic, and a homeless shelter for teenagers.
Beth also has experience working with infertility, PMS, menopause, and other issues in women's health.
Chris Haskell
LAc, MAc
Chris is Board Certified by NCCAOM and a licensed practitioner in the states of Maine and Georgia. She earned her Masters Degree in Acupuncture from The Northwest Institute of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine in Seattle, Washington. At NIAOM Chris studied Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), Chinese medical nutrition, Chinese patent herbs, and Japanese-style acupuncture.
Chris was the owner of Tiger Heart Acupuncture in Atlanta, GA for 5 years before joining Rocky Coast Acupuncture in 2008. In both practices, Chris has specialized in fertility, women's health, digestive issues, anxiety/depression, and pain management.
Chris also enjoys volunteering and has worked in New Orleans with an organization called Acupuncturists Without Borders (AWB). This was an extremely rewarding experience that continues to inspire Chris's work. She believes strongly in making acupuncture as accessible as possible through volunteer work and organizations like AWB.
