You’re already doing everything right.
You've chosen your clinic. You've started the medications. You're tracking every number, every follicle, every result. You've read everything there is to read about improving your odds.
You're in the middle of one of the most physically and emotionally demanding processes a person can go through — and you want to know you've done everything possible to give this cycle the best chance.
Acupuncture isn't a last resort. It's one of the most evidence-backed adjunct therapies available for IVF— and timing it correctly makes all the difference.
What Most IVF Patients Are Never Told
This isn't anecdotal. The evidence for acupuncture alongside IVF is published, specific, and significant. Rocky Coast has built its IVF protocol around this research — refined over 25 years of working alongside Maine's reproductive endocrinologists.
These aren't general wellness statistics. They're specific to the timing and protocol Rocky Coast has refined over 25 years of working alongside Maine's reproductive endocrinologists.
Women who follow our acupuncture protocol are 2× more likely to have a baby compared to women who did IVF alone.
Acupuncture on the day of embryo transfer increases live births by 55% — before and after transfer on the same day.
60% more likely to conceive compared to women who only had two acupuncture treatments on transfer day.
The research is universal. Your protocol never is.

☆ "I've been seeing Beth for almost a year for IVF support and now prenatal support. Beth's knowledge and expertise helped get us to where we are today — 15 weeks pregnant and counting. She was also there for emotional support through the IVF process and I'm forever grateful."
☆ "After 6 months of trying with no success, I went to Beth for two treatments and conceived that month."
☆ "It is impossible to overstate my love and gratitude for Rocky Coast. When I became a client, my partner and I had been trying to conceive for three years."
☆ "I am always confident that our fertility patients who are doing treatments with Rocky Coast will have the absolute best chances for pregnancy success."

25 years. Thousands of Maine families.
Beth Herzig and Jason Stein co-founded Rocky Coast in 2002 with a focus on fertility and integrative medicine. For 25 years they've worked alongside reproductive endocrinologists and OB/GYNs across Maine, New Hampshire, and Massachusetts — supporting patients through every stage of the IVF process. They understand your cycle, your timeline, and what's riding on this.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
Ideally 2–3 months before your projected retrieval date. This is where the most meaningful preparation happens — hormonal regulation, improved blood flow, uterine lining support. If your cycle is closer, starting now is still worthwhile. We'll give you an honest timeline on your free call.
-
It's not too late — starting at any point is better than not starting. Ideally we see patients 2–3 months before retrieval, but meaningful support is still possible during stimulation, around transfer, and in the post-transfer window. Reach out and tell us where you are in your cycle. We'll tell you honestly what's realistic and what we can do with the time you have.
-
We recommend it — and most REs in our area are supportive or refer patients to us directly. Dr. Aaron Styer at CCRM Boston calls Rocky Coast an essential part of his patients' treatment plans. We work with your medical team, not around them.
-
Yes. Our protocol is specifically adapted for fresh cycles, frozen embryo transfers, and retrieval-only cycles. Each has different timing and treatment priorities — we'll build around your specific situation.
-
Fertility acupuncture is typically not covered by insurance. We'll walk you through our program investment on your free call — no surprises.
-
Acupuncture requires in-person visits, but functional medicine, herbal medicine consultations, nutritional guidance, and fertility support are all available via telehealth. Many of our out-of-area IVF patients do their prep and follow-up consultations remotely and come in for key in-person treatment windows — particularly around transfer.
